Krups XP5220 review : I even have to admit that i’m a tea person… i can’t stand coffee (all except Arabic and espresso). Lately I’ve noticed that a cup of tea in the morning simply does not have enough of a kick-start for me as I even have been burning the candle at both ends lately. clearly i do not have the time to induce up extra early in the morning to make a full pot of Arabic coffee for a handful of shots and then leave the rest for waste… and regular coffee is not an option… thus espresso was consequent best thing!
I went around buying an espresso machine and located a Delonghi machine however it had been fully made out of plastic and looked and felt terribly flimsy… and it had a awfully low value tag… this one looked highly suspect to me… I kept looking and located this model. I even have faith in the Krups name as a result of I already own a Krups ice cream maker that’s really nice and the family really enjoys it, a devotee of mine also has the exact same ice cream machine and is admittedly pleased with it too! I read the reviews on Amazon and i was really horrified, particularly since this one is over twice the price! I felt that this machine would fall aside while taking it out of the box from what I read… however it felt rugged and well designed… the various reviews concerning the steam wand breaking were everywhere! Then I read the review by E Grellmann where it had been explained a way to properly and safely take apart the wand… that was really reassuring. Plus, I got the thing for the espressos… I seriously doubt i will be able to ever create a cappuccino with it.
I’ve had it for concerning two weeks currently, and thus far thus smart… the machine makes specialized hot espressos really quick from the primary cup! every espresso comes out with a nice layer of crema and a strong robust flavour! you do not got to really worry concerning tamping the coffee grinds down in the holder as the machine does that automatically for you… really takes all the guess calculate of it! The eject button is admittedly easy to use and pops out the used coffee grinds disk easily… no banging required (more coffee grinds for the compost bin). However, it has happened a handful of times where I even have removed the coffee holder and the used coffee disk had stuck to the highest a part of the machine and didn’t pop out with the holder… not really a problem, an easy wipe down with a towel did the trick. The holder cleans easily and quickly too. The cup heater platform on prime of the machine may be a nice touch furthermore. The machine comes with a metal tablespoon scoop of measuring coffee and fits discretely in the machine furthermore… easy to remember measurements furthermore… one spoon for each cup however never over two! I had also read a review somewhere that the coffee always came out tasting of plastic… undecided if the reviewer read and followed the ‘before using’ instructions where you’re supposed fill it up with water and then drain it once the water heats up… kind of like a pre-use flush. Personally, like I said, the espressos taste great! i believe this machine is going to buy itself soon particularly since a single shot of espresso costs around $2.7 at least!
All that’s left currently for me to try and do is have my perfect espresso drinking situation… right once eating a nice big fat slice of blueberry cheesecake! YUM!
